Matt Mason is a Professor in the Robotics Institute and the Computer Science Department. His interests are in robotic manipulation, including pushing, squeezing, rolling, pivoting, throwing, grasping, regrasping, mechanical assembly, parts orienting, and screwdriving, as well as related issues in modeling, planning, and machine learning.

Ankit Bhatia is a PhD student at The Robotics Institute advised by Matt Mason. His research interests lie in the design of direct-drive robotic systems like the SIMbot. He is now trying to assess the benefit of direct-drive hands in manipulation.

Yifan Hou is a PhD student at the Robotics Institute advised by Matt Mason. His research interests include planning and control for better dexterity and reliability for robot manipulators. He is currently focusing on the using force control for contact-rich manipulations.

Pragna Mannam is a MS student at the Robotics Institute advised by Matt Mason. Her interests are in manipulation and tactile sensing. Her undergrad was in Electrical and Computer Engineering. She is also passionate about creative writing and photography.
